After finishing and reviewing the earlier work in this series, Slavery, I went ahead and began Religion and couldn't put it down. Sallier has the absurdist humor of a Douglas Adams (see his other work, Jangu Jetrekk) coupled with the violent tendencies (at least in the YAGA series)of a Bret Easton Ellis with all the biting satire of both authors; an interesting mix. Like Slavery, however, much of the violence is a bit over-the-top gratuitous, but perhaps because I read this right after finishing Slavery, I became accustomed to it and found myself laughing so loud that my boyfriend had to come in from the other room and see what I thought was so funny. In my edition, it says a third installment was supposed to have already been released. I haven't seen it on amazon but I hope it is released very soon.Product details
